From Vilnius Airport, you can take bus No. 1, 2, or 88 to reach the train or bus station. From there, you can board a train or bus to Kaunas, which takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.
International buses, such as those coming from Riga, also stop at Kaunas Airport or nearby terminals.
Long-distance buses, including FlixBus, provide services from nearby cities and various locations across Europe to Kaunas. Since schedules and routes may vary, it is advisable to check in advance for details.

6. Nemunas–Nevėžis Confluence Landscape Reserve (Nemuno ir Nevėžio santakos kraštovaizdžio draustinis):
Just west of central Kaunas lies a beautifully preserved natural area where the Nemunas and Nevėžis rivers converge.
The Nemunas–Nevėžis Confluence Landscape Reserve spans 446 hectares and protects the steep river valleys, lush banks, and green corridors of this scenic location.
It is a favorite spot for walkers and birdwatchers, as the area is home to around 90 bird species, including several that are rare and globally threatened.

7. Marvelė cascade (Marvelės kaskados):
Just about 7 km (approximately 4.3 miles) from the center of Kaunas lies a tranquil natural gem: the Marvelė River Valley, which is home to the picturesque Marvelė cascades. These stone cascades were originally constructed in 1881 as part of the Kaunas Fortress.
Today, thanks to the efforts of the local community, the valley has been revitalized with concrete stairs, a wooden footbridge, benches, and an amphitheater where you can pause to enjoy the soothing sounds of flowing water and birdsong.
In spring, when the ice melts, the cascades transform into a lively stream, making this location ideal for a peaceful picnic, photography, or a nature-focused walk just outside Kaunas.
8. Juniper Valley (Kadagių slėnio poilsiavietė):
Just outside of Kaunas, in the Arlaviškės area of the Kaunas Lagoon Regional Park, lies the enchanting Juniper Valley, a protected botanical reserve renowned for its rugged slope dotted with centuries-old juniper bushes.
A 1.3 km (0.8 mile) nature trail winds through the valley, featuring both boardwalks and forest paths. Along the way, observation points offer stunning views of the Nemunas River and Dabinta Island.
Many of the junipers here are nearly 100 years old and can grow up to 12.5 meters tall.
